Laboratories and engineering test cells often require
a sound environment that is completely free of reverberation
throughout the audible frequency spectrum from low frequency
to high frequency.
West General recently completed a hemi-anechoic chamber
for a prominent computer manufacturer in the San Francisco
Bay Area. From start to finish, the enclosure has been
rebuilt on top of a newly designed seismic rated isolator
rail system, and required over 700 Pinta Sonex acoustic
wedges to maximize the total absorptive area. The class
one fire-rated foam material is designed to completely
absorb wavelengths as low as 125 hz.
What were the results?
A chamber so quiet it's "eerie"
Virtually no reverberation
Isolation from vibration
Satisfied test engineers
